xenoclipse.net is a European network for the promotion of diversity in the media and digital literacy for minority groups.

The network is supported by the European Commission through its eLearning programme and focusses on the implementation, evaluation and dissemination of online tools that enhance ethnic and cultural minorities’ participation in the European media landscape.

After the successful experience of the consortium’s first collaborations, eCLIPse and XenoCLIPSe, the need for a sustainable network around this topic became clear.

The network envisages aware-raising about diversity in the media through different channels and with diverse methodologies. Our main tool is digital video and its distribution on the net. The idea is to allow people who have difficulties accessing new media and technologies to make and distribute their own information in an easy way. In this sense, the xenoclipse.net consortium developed two online tools:

1. an online module, up to date and hands-on, on media production, available in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Norwegian: XenoCLIPSe online module

2. a ’Diversity Address Book’, which allows media professionals to access alternative sources for specific subjects, in order to include the point of view of ethnic minorities and immigrants, specialists in those fields. The Address Book is available in its pilot version at: Diversity Address Book
